Minnesota State Fair 2010 --- Shortarmguy Diary Entry for September 4, 2010

The Shortarmguy Family Visits The Minnesota State Fair
September 6, 2010

The Minnesota State Fair came to town and the Shortarmguy Family went to visit.  We just love the fish at the DNR Pond, as well as going to the Birthing Center where we can see baby pigs and sheep get borned!  It's a great learning experience for all of us!  Plus we get to eat a bunch of greasy crap on a stick which really helps all of our diets!

I really like this place!  I feel like I fit in here.

Luke is a big fan of the butterfly house.  He likes to catch them and put them all over his body.  Then he sits on them.  It's a great bargain for only $3.00!

Avery really wanted to go on the space tower.  He thought it would be so cool to go up 330 feet in the air high over the fairgrounds.  He wasn't nearly as happy when he discovered he wasn't going to be able to push his brother out at the top, though.  He felt the $3.00 we spent for him to go on that ride was a bit of a ripoff.

The fair looks like such a happy place from so high in the sky!

It doesn't feel nearly as happy on the ground, though.  There's just way too dang many people!!

So all the above pictures were taken on Sunday.  We decided to go back again on the following Saturday, but didn't want to deal with so many people again.  So we had the bright idea of recruiting the Unabomber to go with us.  Surely people would run the opposite direction if they saw him coming!

We had a great time at the Fair with the Zitzewitz Family!  Even if all we did was primarily spend our time dancing with a giant dirt statue of a gopher.  Hey, don't knock it until you've tried it!

We did take a break from dancing so Miss Sheri and I could try to ring the bell with a giant sledgehammer.  She came a lot closer than I did.
