This place seems very modern, perhaps like something you'd see in a swanky high rise condo or town house near the city, right?

HERE'S THE INCREDIBLE PART!!

This 1 bedroom loft apartment was built inside a 1940's grain bin.

It was renovated into this upscale unit after it was purchased and relocated to the grounds of the Gruene Homestead Inn in New Braunfels, TX??

If that's not creative craftsmanship, then I don't know what is.

I couldn't help but share this because it is so cool!

Would you have thought to do that with old silos on a farm?

  7. I LOVE IT!

The problem is most places will NOT let you put this super cool house in their neighborhood. :-(

  8. First time I thought I wanted to live in a grain elevator I was 9. I still look at them designing my own. I would definately put large curved windows in and maybe a large circulur redwood deck around the perimeter. It would be a great shell and would need a strong foundation and a lot of interior structure to complete.

  9. I'd be concerned about insulation. Also, where's the t.v.?

  10. TV is up behind the chair in the Living room - and as it's got wiring you don't see, and you see normal walls inside instead of tin - seems like it has walls built inside the silo and most likely has insulation there. It's just the most amazing little home!

  11. These can be done with two grain bins.. one inside the other and insulated strongly.. takes two different sizes, of course.. I love the concept!
